Alaskan Deployed Service Members Receive Care Packages

American Legion Jack Henry Post 1 Anchorage Alaska

We love to help active duty service members, it’s our mission. When Armed Services YMCA asked us to partner with them to send care packages to deployed service members from Alaska as part of Operation Frosty Warrior, we were all about it. Commander Art Bell and First Vice Mark Berg organized donations and filled 110 boxes with necessities and goodies from Alaska and ASYMCA shipped them off. We are thankful for ASYMCA, as they sent over 3500 hundred packages with the help of many other partners.

The best part for us was to see photos of smiling faces holding up notes that we sent in our care packages. We do not know where these service members are deployed but we hope that they know that the 520 American Legion members from Alaska Post 1 are thankful for their service and appreciate their sacerfices.
